As the title suggests, today we're gonna talk about the best breed of chickens...
Chickens are animals that are keept not only as livestock, but also as pets, there are people who have 5 chickens, there are people who have 500 chickens, there are chickens that lay many eggs, chickens that are gaining waight pretty fast, there are chickens that go broody and there are chickens that never go broody, chickens that look colorful and simetrical and chikens than are not that pretty...
Which one of these is the BEST breed?
The answer is not that simple, first of all we need to know what are we asking for from a chicken... Eggs?meat? a pet?
Lets say you're looking for a breed that lays eggs, but you dont care about meat, so it doesnt matter if the bird is not gonna be more than 1,5-2 kg.. for this purpose one of the breed is the WHITE LEGHORN, they are the best breed if you consider the egg to feed ratio (weight of feed/weight of eggs). The negative thing about this breed is that no matter how much you feed them, they're never gonna be meaty, not worth harvesting for meat....
Summarizing, the best breed exists only in each ones eyes based on our needs and likes.
